Synopsis:
In Winnie the Pooh goes visiting, Director Fyodor Khitruk interprets A.A. Milne’s classic Winnie the Pooh stories for the Soviet screen. While Amierican viewers familiar with Sterling Holloway’s rendition of Pooh’s voice may at first be shocked by Evgeni Leonov’s gravelly, emphysematic Pooh, but Leonov makes Pooh his own and the benefit of not having Christopher Robin in the cartoon makes everything better. Khitruk thought Christopher Robin was superfluous to the story, and after seeing his vision of the story, it’s hard to disagree with him.
